I didn't do a very good job of taking pictures of our first apartment, so I decided that with our new place I wanted to document it better, so I can have something to remember these days and this life (post-wedding, pre-kiddo life) by. So I'm starting with the bedroom. Some of these tours will hopefully prove to be "before" shots of our home, as I have lots of ideas and tweaking and nesting I would love to do :)
Without further ado, here's the view of our bedroom from the living room.
As you can see on the right side of the image, there's light coming in from the sliding glass doors there that lead to the balcony. We love having a little outdoor space! Right now it doesn't get any direct sunlight so it can be a little too chilly to sit out there, but when the weather warms up a bit I'm sure we'll use it a lot more.
I love our ticking stripe bedding – it's a perfect pattern for a couple I think; not too masculine, not too feminine. It's just right for us :) And I'm trying to add some pops of color to the room with the pillow and quilt. So far I like it. The pin board above the bed is an idea I got from Emily at Jones Design Company. She's got awesome DIY tutorials.
Below is a picture of the dresser on my side of the bed. I absolutely love it and it was originally purchased by my grandmother when she redid her bedroom in her parents house to celebrate her first job. Isn't that fun!? So it's been passed down from her to my dad to my brother and now I get to use it. I just love to lay in bed and look at those drawer handles. Makes me think of my Oma :)
Annnnd I'm posting this next picture just to keep it real. I mean come on people, we moved in less than a month ago! It's true, we still have boxes stacked up against the wall. But someday I hope to show you how awesome this side of the room looks compared to it's current state:
And that's the little bedroom tour folks! Not a ton of space, but we make it work. There's also a generous walk-in closet which is lovely to have but not lovely to look at right now. And then another door in the corner leading to the bathroom. Sorry the photos are so yellow. What's up with that? My photography teacher, Larry would not be proud. No, sir.
Ta ta for now!
