You May Have Noticed...

that little side bar on my blog that says "vote for me" and maybe you're wondering "hey, what's that?!"

For a while now, I've been following designers on a website called Minted. It's this really great community of designers who submit their work to design challenges. Your design is posted, and for a week before voting begins, you can comment on others designs and receive critique from others. Then voting begins and the community chooses winning designs and the designs that will be sold on the site. I've really learned a lot from following their Forum the last 6 months or so, and I finally decided to take the plunge and submit some of my own work. So far I've entered 6 designs for 2 challenges. I have to say, it's pretty intimidating to put yourself out there like that, and to compare your work to others who are so creative and skilled. I even feel a little foolish when I think about it! I've played it safe so far, submitting simple, classic looks. I don't know. We'll see. I don't really know what I'm expecting out of this. But I suppose if I can even learn a little bit and challenge myself to grow it will be a good thing.
