Easter Weekend – He is Risen!
Our Easter was worshipful and sweet and beautiful and delicious and fun. We started the morning at church. It was my very first Sunday in the newly constructed big room (since last week I was teaching Sunday School). We are so thankful for a space that can comfortably hold more people! What a blessing. We celebrated Jesus' resurrection with two baptisms, a gospel message and lots of singing. I love witnessing baptisms. Watching someone express their faith in Jesus and the amazing stories of people passing from death to life abundant. How wonderful it is that Jesus is alive! It means everything to me!
I'm still getting used to the completely different climate here in Arizona. Easter used to mean the start of spring and would often times usher in warmer weather (and other times bring more snow!). But now, Easter is in the height of our lovely season. Just around the corner we know the hot sweltering days of summer are coming. But for now, we bask in the gentle sunshine and the cool breezes and enjoy our outside Easter. My mom made a delicious lunch and we joined them and some friends from their small group for a wonderful afternoon of porch sitting and neighborhood walks.
He is risen indeed!
